We all love getting away and exploring the world but most of us will agree that the flights are not exactly the most fun part of the trip. We have flown countless hours together, and here are a few tips which help us get through any flight.

Get Some Food
If you are anything like us then food is pretty important, especially when travelling.
Before you fly have a proper meal. Get to the airport a bit early, sit down at one of restaurants and have a proper meal, (we tend to opt for something comforting, like burgers or pizza). This will keep you going for longer during a long flight.
Pack some snacks. (Lots of snacks!) Although you are usually given meals on flights these may not come around regularly, you may not like them and with the time difference you maybe left feeling hungry. They can also be very comforting; being stuck in a plane can be stressful, but munching on some Oreos will create a little moment of happiness.
Keep Hydrated
Thanks to the plane's air circulation system, the humidity level in the cabin is lower than the Sahara's, so make sure you drink lots of water and stay hydrated throughout the flight. This helps you counteract dehydration and you will also feel more fresh when you land.
Alcohol doesn't count, sorry.
Get Comfy
Economy seats are not a feather bed, but there are a few things you can do to make it more comfortable and bearable. Firstly, prepare; make sure you are wearing comfortable clothes like leggings, t-shirts or other loose fitting clothes, you will not only be comfy but it will help with your blood flow which will effected by the cabin pressure.
Make use of the blankets, pillows or socks provided, and also make sure you are prepared with anything you need to make it comfortable. Things like headphones and eye masks will help you not be disturbed and allow you some quality shut eye. Find whatever works for you and stick to it.

Get the Blood Flowing
Make sure you get out of your seat often, and even do some stretches in or out of your seat to get your blood flowing a bit. Flying is not great for our blood pressure and circulation, so moving around regularly can help mitigate this.
We try to get up and move every hour or so, which definitely helps us to keep more fresh and comfortable. We love the feeling after a few minutes of stretching and a short walk around the plane, and makes the upcoming however many hours a bit more bearable.
Get Your Beauty Sleep
It's important you get a good sleep whilst flying, so that you arrive refreshed at your destination. If you can, use the flight to try and get your body accustomed to the time zone you will be travelling to, and sleep according to that. Sometimes this can be difficult, but if you can stick to it, it will really help with the jet lag.
The cabin crew will doubt remind you, but if you are using a blanket, make sure you put your seatbelt on the outside, so that they can see it and won't have to wake you up if there is any turbulence.
Wandering Tip
It is no secret that flying is bad for the environment, accounting for over 2% of global carbon emissions, however the majority of the time this may be your only (and most cost effective option) getting around the world. If you do fly, aim to offset your emissions by purchasing carbon credits, either directly through your airline or through an accredited third party like MyClimate.
If you have any other tips for making a long-haul flight more comfortable, we would love to hear about them in the comments.
Happy Wandering!
