There's an app for that!
When travelling, we found the help of these apps invaluable, whether its for getting around more easily, finding the best deals on travel and accommodation or to discover the best things to do wherever we are in the world. Give them a try and see if they will help you on your adventures.
*We receive no endorsements/payment for the below recommendations, these are just our favourite apps, which we wanted to share with you*

1. Hopper (free)
Whenever we travel, we struggle with when to book the flights, to ensure we get the cheapest deal. Well Hopper is our solution to this problem. You can set up alerts for flights and hotels for specific dates or a range if you aren't set on a date, and the app will let you know whether the prices will increase, fall or stay the same, so you can make an informed decision on when to book.
Not sure where you want to go (but want a great deal), Hopper can help you with travel inspiration too; set you home airport, and it will show you the best travel deals, and who knows, maybe your next trip will be to Vilnius, Lithuania.
2. Citymapper (free)
Who doesn't love a city break, but getting around a new city can be a challenge and nobody wants to spend all their money on Ubers or taxis. Citymapper will give you the tools to explore a range of new cities using their extensive and affordable public transport systems.
The app's interface will help you see local transport maps, different modes of transport available in the city, as well a handy travel planner to help you get from A to B in the easiest way.
3. Culture Trip (free)
Not sure where to eat, which the best cafes are or what sights are worth seeing, well Culture Trips has got you covered. Simply type the city or location you are visiting, and it will give you articles with all the recommendations you could need. You can save individual articles or collate different articles relating to the area you are visiting.
Our favourite aspect of the app is that it is populated by a lot of talented, local writers, meaning you will get great tips and travel advice from people who actually live in the areas you are visiting, giving you the best chance to see the city like a local.
4. Rome2Rio (free)
If you have no idea about the best way to get from Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh or from Budapest to Seville, you need Rome2Rio. The app is great; you just need to pick a start point and a destination and it will show you all the different ways you can get from A to B.
The app is super easy to use, and will help you plan your trips all over the globe, giving you options from flights and buses to trains and driving, so that you can find the mode of transport that suits you best.
5. Trivago (free)
When looking for accommodation, we always start on Trivago. It helps us find hotels and hostels wherever we travel to, so that we can find the best deals and save money.
The app is great; you can search by location, and your travel dates, filter your result based on your budget, needs or proximity to a certain place. Once you have narrowed it down, it will compare all the relevant hotels on all websites where it is available, so that you can find the best deal on your preferred place of stay.
6. What3Words (free)
This is for those who actually get lost whilst wandering; the app can help you out in an emergency. We don't like to think about it, but it is always best to be prepared. The creators of this app have mapped the entire globe into 3x3m squares and assigned each one a unique 3 word code (for example Bribery, Gerbil, Sandpit), to help with locating you.
The app is super helpful if you don't know the address of your location or if the area you are in doesn't have an address, such as a national park. The app will give you the 3 word code for your exact location, so that you can relay this to the emergency services, and that they can find you easier.
We'd love to know if you find this helpful as well as about your favourite travel apps in the comments.
Happy Wandering!
